What is remember-me?
remember-me is a website designed to create and send your loved ones messages after your death.
How does the site work?
remember-me is simple to use. You set-up an account, create a message, upload photos, videos, voice messages to that message (paid accounts only), assign a recipient and plan the moment you want it to be sent.
What information do I need to provide in order to set-up an account?
Only information which is absolutely necessary is requested by us during setting up an account. The required fields have an * next to them.
There are different account types. What are the differences?
  1. The "remember-me" account – you are able to create and send unlimited text only messages to your loved ones. No additional content like pictures can be added to your messages
  2. The "remember-me +" account – you are able to create and send unlimited messages to your loved ones. You are able to attach to these messages pictures, videos, voice messages and other content up to a storage limit of 2GB.
  3. The "remember-me ++" account – you are able to create and send unlimited messages to your loved ones. You are able to attach to these messages pictures, videos, voice messages and other content up to a storage limit of 5GB.
I signed-up for an account, but have not received any emails?
remember-me does everything it can to ensure compatibility with all email servers, but if for any reason you do not receive your welcome email or activation link email, please add [email protected] to your safe sender list.
I have forgotten my password. What should I do?
On the top right of the screen you will see a sentence in blue saying "Have you forgotten your password?". Please click here, enter your email address and follow the instructions in the email which will be sent to you.
How can I change my password?
You are able to change your password yourself by logging into your account and then going to your profile page. Here you will see a section called "change password". Please enter here the new password you would like to have, confirm it in the box below, and then click on "update".
I have received an email with an activation link. What is the activation link used for?
Each user of our website is provided with an activation link via email upon sign-up which is only to be used after death to activate the sending of your messages.

We recommend that you provide this link to a person you trust and who will be able to enter the required information at the required moment. This person we call a trustee.
Who should my trustee be?
Anyone you trust to activate your messages upon your passing; partner, family member, friend, or legal representative. Please note that a trustee will have NO access to your account or messages. The only message a trustee might receive is the one you leave for them.
How are my messages activated?
Once the time has come, your trustee will be in charge of clicking on the link and entering the date of death into the remember-me website. This is all that is required of your trustee, and will be enough to activate the system and release the messages as you have scheduled them.
What guarantee do I have that my messages will be sent?
As long as you have followed all the steps and provided your link to a trustee you have done everything to guarantee that your messages are in a position to be sent.

It will be up to your trustee to ensure they enter the site using the link at the appropriate time in order for the messages to actually be sent.

remember-me guarantees the storage of your messages until this moment in time.
What will recipients of my messages actually receive?
Each created message will be sent individually to each recipient via email (in the case that you have multiple recipients in one message).

Within the email there will be a link to your message which the recipient can click on to view both the text and any content you have attached to that message.
Can the recipients of my messages keep them?
Yes. When the recipient clicks on the link in the email to view the message there will also be a download function available within the message so they are able to save the content offline.
How long after a receiver receives a message can the content be downloaded?
Messages will be available for viewing and download on our servers for a period of 30 days after the date of sending.
I lost my activation link. What should I do?
If you have lost your activation link, you can request a new one by logging into your account, going to your profile page, and clicking on "resend" under the "Get Activation Link" section.

Please note that your previous link will become inactive, and you will need to provide this new link to your trustee.
Can I re-generate my activation link?
If for any reason you would like to request a new activation link; perhaps due to a change in your trustee, you can do this by logging into your account, going to your profile page, and clicking on "resend" under the "Get Activation Link" section.

Is there a limit to the number of messages I can create?
No. Regardless of the type of account you have, you can create as many messages as you like. The only restriction you have within the free account is that you cannot attach any content like photos to your messages, and within the paid account you have a storage limit which you can track within your profile.
Is there a limit to the number of contacts I can create?
No. You can add as many contacts as you would like to your profile.
I cannot find a contact I created under "my contacts"
If you have many contacts, the site will not be able show all contacts you have created on one page. In order to find a contact quickly, make use of the search function on the page.
I cannot find a message I created under "my messages"
When creating a message we always advise to give the message a title. In this way you can easily make use of the search function on the "my messages" screen in order to find your messages back.
What type of content can I upload to the site?
The site will accept all types of media and document files. Please check the "more information" button on the message creation page for a list of file extensions.
Once I upload content to the site can I use it again in another message?
Yes. The site will store all content you have uploaded for use at a later message. When scheduling a new message, you can find previously uploaded content under the button "add previously uploaded content.
Can I add more than one contact to one message?
Yes, this is possible. You can add as many contacts to one message as you would like. Contacts can always be added and/ or deleted at a later stage.
Can I add more than one piece of content to one message?
Yes, this is possible. You can add as many pieces of content as you would like to one message bearing in mind your overall storage limit. Content can always be added and/ or deleted at a later stage.
Within the create message screen what is meant by "Select a moment within a year after your death"?
For each message you will need to select one moment you would like it to be sent. You have 3 options:

  1. Immediately after confirmation of death – the message will be sent the moment the activation link is used by your trustee;
  2. First anniversary of death – the message will be sent 1 year after the date of your passing (this is why the trustee is requested to enter the date of death upon activation);
  3. A specific date – this will be within one year of your passing, but could for example be a person’s birthday. You are only required to enter a date and a month as all messages are sent within 1 year.
Can I edit messages once they are created?
Yes. All details within a message can be edited at any time by logging into your account and clicking on "Messages".
Can I edit contacts once they are created?
Yes. All contacts can be edited at any time by logging into your account and clicking on "Contacts".
How can I upgrade my account?
If you wish to upgrade your account you can do so by logging into your account and clicking on the "upgrade account" button at the top of the screen. If an upgrade is available it will then be displayed and you can click on the "upgrade" button where you will be redirected for payment.
Is it possible to downgrade my account?
Unfortunately it is not possible to downgrade your account.
What happens when my storage limit is full?
If you are on the remember-me + account you can then upgrade to the remember-me ++ account and give yourself more MB of storage space. Unfortunately it is not possible to add additional storage space when you are already on the remember-me ++ account.
How does payment work?
Payment is taken on a monthly basis for the services you have chosen. Payment goes via PayPal which accepts all major credit cards and payment through bank accounts. For more information on PayPal and how it works, please click here.
What happens if my subscription is cancelled after I have passed away and before the activation link is used?
In this scenario, remember-me will treat your account in the same way as with the regular cancellation of an account. This means your account will be downgraded to a free account. If your trustee uses the activation link within 30 days of the cancellation date your messages which are scheduled as "asap" will be delivered together with any attachments. After a period of 30 days the attachments to your files will be removed, so if your trustee uses the link after this time messages will be scheduled and sent but without the attachments. As remember-me has no influence over these events, we recommend you to inform your trustee of this situation.
What happens to my subscription payment when I have passed away?
At the moment your trustee uses the activation link your subscription payment will be automatically cancelled and messages will be scheduled to be sent as per your wishes.
Will my information be used by other parties?
Absolutely not. At remember-me we value your privacy and will not share your details with any other 3rd parties for any reason. Please consult our privacy policy and terms and conditions.
Is the site secure?
Yes. We take security seriously and have all the relevant certificates and SSL requirements to guarantee to you that your content and details will be secure. Please consult our privacy policy and terms and conditions.
Can the site be used on my mobile device?
Yes, the site is completely mobile enabled, which means that you can also create and edit your messages on the move via your phone. Wherever and whenever you like.
Can I cancel my account?
Should you change your mind and decide not to use your account any longer, you can cancel online at anytime through your profile screen.

If you are on a paid account, no extra charge occurs, only the last full month is due.

Your account will be downgraded to a free account and your subscription payment will be cancelled. This will mean that you will be unable to view any uploaded content you have attached to your messages.

Should you change your mind, simply upgrade your account again within 30 days of your cancellation date to gain access to your uploaded content. After 30 days your account will be permanently deleted.
How do I contact the remember-me team?
We are available to assist you with your questions at any moment. Please make use of the "contact us" section on the website. We aim to answer all enquires within 24 hours.
I suspect abuse on the website. What should I do?
At remember-me we take any kind of abuse of the website or the use of it seriously. If you suspect abuse has occurred, please make use of the "report abuse" form which can be found at the bottom of the website.
